Procedure
Preparation
- Turn off the heater.
- Disable the chlorinator via the Chemtrol unit.
- Disable the acid pump via the Chemtrol unit.
- Stop the pump.
- Close the water valves on both sides of the strainer basket.
Cleaning
- Loosen the six screws on the strainer lid.
- Remove the strainer lid.
- Remove the strainer basket.
- Inspect and clean the basket. Discard the contents into a garbage bag.
Wrap-Up
- Return the strainer basket to the base. The taller side of the basket must be on the right (pump) side.
- Re-install the strainer lid. Hand-tighten the six screws.
- Open the water valves on both sides of the strainer basket.
- Hand tighten the six screws again, as needed.
- Start the pump.
- Enable the acid pump via the Chemtrol unit.
- Enable the chlorinator via the Chemtrol unit.
- Open the air bleed valve above the water level sensor on the heater. If the sensor has tripped, reset.
Controlling the Pump
- To start or stop the pump, press the black START or red STOP button on the Pump Motor Starter.
